Broadous, Texas 75929 • Phone: 936.872.304) • Fax: 936.872.3699 Dear Broaddus ISD Parents/Guardians: During this time of pandemic and our school closing for the additional week, we wanted to offer some internet-based ideas as well as paper-based materials for your use while your students are at home. Both principals will be at the school on Tuesday and Wednesday (3/17-3/18), between 10 am and 12 pm to pick up paper based practice materials for your child and information about our internet programs. Continued conversations with your child's teachers are also encouraged through the methods already established. Please call our school if you require additional information. Again, the safety of our kids and our entire staff is of utmost importance during this time. Keep an eye out for updates as this situation changes. Phone: 936.872.3041 • Fax: 936.872.3699 IMPORTANT SCHOOL CLOSURE INFORMATION: March 13, 2020 Given all of the changing information and the volatility of the COVID-19 pandemic, I am making the decision to close BISD next week (March 16th-20th) to ensure the health and safety of our students and teachers. We will return on Monday, March 23rd. Also, UIL has suspended all activities through March 29th. Governor Greg Abbott has declared a state of disaster for all counties in Texas as of today. I attended a phone conference with Commissioner Mike Morath and will be in daily communication with him throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. At this time, the district does not have any confirmed cases of COVID-19 nor does our county. However, we urge any individuals that have been in contact with COVID-19 or have been in an area where there have been confirmed cases of COVID-19 to contact the CDC at 800-232-4636 and quarantine yourself. Please continue to monitor the Department of State Health Service and CDC websites for more information about COVID-19 at the following links https://www.dshs.texas.gov/coronavirus/ or https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.
