Phone: 936.872.3041 • Fax: 936.872.3699 Cancelation of May Bond Election TO BISD Parents and Community Members: The COVID-19 pandemic has created challenging times and hard decisions have been made to ensure that the school district provides a safe atmosphere for our students, staff, and community members. Broaddus ISD was providing an opportunity for the taxpayers to take advantage of the high taxable valuation, provide safe and innovative facilities both for the Elementary and Jr. High/High school students that would continue to promote students for years to come. Our mission at Broaddus ISD is to be an educational leader in partnership with families and the community, is to empower and inspire students to be lifelong learners in a safe and supportive environment so that today's students can become tomorrow's leaders. Like our mission stated above, as BISD superintendent, I will never jeopardize the safety of my community. At the April Board Meeting, I recommended canceling the May Bond Election and the board unanimously voted without hesitation to cancel the bond election. As superintendent, I will continue to empower all students to reach their utmost potential to achieve excellence. Providing the safest environment and facilities will be our first priority and we will work to ensure that we can do this while continuing "A Tradition of Excellence" at Broaddus ISD. Correction About Elementary Class Pictures - The pictures were taken. Lifetouch is unable to print them. Their lab is closed due to shelter in place restrictions.

Elementary & JH/HS school pictures will be handed out at the meal distribution on Wednesdays from 10-1 at the elementary cafeteria. Also, due to COVID-19 Liftouch unfortunately will not be able to take elementary class pictures this year.

The virus lives in tiny droplets in the lungs of people w/ COVID-19, even when they don’t show symptoms. We can breathe the same air as anyone within abt. 6 ft. of us. Staying farther apart from people during this time reduces the chance of breathing in the virus. #StayHomeTexas
