Phone: 936.872.3041 · Fax: 936.872.3699 Update on School Closure on April 27, 2020 As we endure the COVID-19 together and set a new normal way of living, it is no surprise to me that our community has joined together to help each other. While this has led to worry and uncertainty for all of us, it also allows each of us to depend on and reconnect with each other and with our faith. Please read the following updated information about the remainder of the school year procedures. School Closure School will not reopen for the remainder of the year for students to attend in person. Grades/Instructional Material Please return the last packets that were sent out, our grading policy has not changed. Our final packets will be sent out on May 1st, it will not contain a return envelope due to time-sensitivity but staff will still be available to any students with their work, and this packet will have 3 weeks worth of work to finish the year. If you have any questions regarding your child's work, please email their teacher. Go to our school website for their emails. Be on the lookout for summer school learning support. Meals We will continue curbside pick-up of meals until May 20th but the district will send additional information about the meals for the summer. Each pick-up will provide breakfast and lunch for 5 days. The district will have meals available beginning at 10:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. Graduation/Events Broaddus ($D will continue to plan to have High School Graduation on May 21st at 7:00 p.m. (This is subject to change at any time) Kindergarten and 5th Grade Graduations will be set at a later date. Awards for students will be mailed out to each student. End of Year If you have any school property (Chromebooks, library books, etc.) and need to pay lunch charges please do so the week of May 11th-14th from 10:00-1:00 p.m. Also, If students have left personal belongings in classrooms below are scheduled pick-up times: Elementary/High School May 4 8:00-10:00 a.m. Pre-K/6th 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Kind./7th May 5 8:00-10:00 a.m. 1st/8th 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. 3rd./9th May 6 8:00-10:00 a.m. 2nd/10th 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. 4th./11th May 7 8:00-10:00 a.m. Extra pick-up 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. 5th/12th ave Saying goodbye As a district, we strongly felt that it was necessary to organize an opportunity for students and teachers goodbye to each other. On May 21, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. for students to drive by, not get out of their cars, and see teachers/staff curbside on their campus. This has been a trying time for everyone, especially our students. It is my mission to ensure that our students have as many good memories from 2020 as possible and bring closure to the 2019-2020 school year, “A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE"
