Due to the trajectory of the hurricane, BISD will switch to remote learning on Wednesday, teachers will be giving students a packet of work to complete and turned in, on Thursday and Friday we will cancel school for all students, and classes will resume on Monday. There will be no extracurricular activities and no meal pickup on Friday for remote learners.

Laura Turcios-Our Very Own Hero
Today, we gathered around our flagpole to bid farewell to our own Laura Turcios. Laura has served as our Library Para and assisted with our Fun Tech Fridays. We will miss her.
The United States Army activated Laura and she will now go into service to our country. We honored her by surrounding her for our morning Pledges. We thank you for your service to our district and we thank you for your service to our country.

I want to commend everyone on today. Principals, teachers, staff, students, and parents have all gone above and to make today work! Today has not been without a few hiccups but we found a way to make it happen! Thank you all for thinking outside the box and making our school day work without internet. I know that wearing masks on the first day of school was unlike anything we ever thought we would have to do as educators but you still found a way to give your students a warm welcome and make them feel safe. These are difficult times and we must all continue to work together to get through this. I have encountered obstacles at the beginning of every year but we have always ended better than we started. Since we started off on such a great note today, I cannot wait to see where we are on May 21, 2021.
I just want to say, THANK YOU to all of the parents for entrusting BISD with your kids. We are so excited to have students back in our hallways and classrooms!
Sincerely yours,
Lucas Holloway
BISD Superintendent
