Broaddus I.S.D Today at approximately 12:50 pm the fire alarm was activated at the JH/HS campus, and all students safely evacuated the building within 3 minutes. It was determined that the alarm was caused by smoke from a short in an external charger. Fans were brought in by the maintenance department to clear residual smoke from a hallway, and the room where the incident occurred was sealed off. Classes have now all resumed. If you have any questions, you may call the front office.
Progress Reports will be sent home today with students.

This year the event will be held from June 24 – 28, 2019 at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. Established in 1988, the mission of ETREYS is to foster positive ideas and values among young people and to enhance skills in leadership, problem solving and interpersonal relationships. Each year, DETEC offers an all-expenses-paid trip to selected sophomores and juniors who are attending a high school in the DETEC service area. Participants are selected on the basis of overall excellence and involvement in extracurricular activities including leadership positions, academic awards, etc. While at ETREYS students can expect to participate in workshops, seminars and peer group activities that range from leadership development to pure entertainment. Nationally known personalities, college professors and community leaders are scheduled to speak at this year's event. Additionally, each student has a chance to compete for thousands in college scholarship funds!
