Broaddus Elementary 2019-2020 Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration  April 30 - May 3  Between 8:30a.m. & 3:00p.m.   Students who are 4 years old on or before September 1 may qualify for enrollment in the Pre-K program.  The Pre-K program is a full day program but limited to a class size of 20 eligible students.  To be eligible students must meet one of the following eligibility requirements: 	 Unable to speak and comprehend the English language; or  Economically disadvantaged; or Homeless, as defined by 42 U.S.C Section 1143a; or Child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority; or Child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty; or Is or ever has been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services following an adversary hearing held as provided by Section 262.201, Family Code.  Any child who will be 5 years old on or before September 1 and lives in the Broaddus School District may register for kindergarten.  All current Broaddus I.S.D. Pre-K students do not need to register for Kindergarten.  Parents/Guardians registering their child for Pre-K and Kindergarten must bring copies of the following: Birth certificate Social Security Card Completed Shot Record  Proof of residency (utility bill, phone bill etc.) Parent/Guardian drivers license Proof of qualification – Pre-K only

Los estudiantes que tienen 4 años al o antes de septiembre 1, pueden calificar para la inscripción en el programa de Pre-K. El programa de Pre-K es un programa de día completo, pero limitado a un tamaño de clase de 20 estudiantes elegibles. April 9, 2019  Parents/Guardians,  On Thursday, April 25 at 6pm, Broaddus High School will be hosting a 2019/2020 college/dual credit meeting in the high school cafeteria. This meeting will be for any incoming freshmen, sophomore, junior or senior students who would like to participate in college/dual credit classes for the spring and/or fall semesters. (Next year will be our first year to offer freshmen and sophomore students the opportunity to take dual credit/college courses.) Dual credit forms will be filled out, steps on applying to Angelina College will be covered and information concerning the dual credit program will be discussed, including how it affects students' GPA, class rank and high school/college credits. If you child is interested in taking dual credit/college courses next year, it is important that you both attend this meeting.  Please call my office if you have any questions. It was a lot of hard work not luck that made this year's Shamrock Games a great success, and the sophomore class has a pot of gold profit of 2,400.80 to show for it!  Mrs. Lewis, class sponsor, would like to thank all of the parents, students, and community members who pitched in to make this event so successful.  Hats off to Trinity Dykes  for selling around 150 raffle tickets, Geneka Lacy & Lility Utz for working so hard in the kitchen Friday, & Rachel Lakey & Olivia Parker for their awesome decorating, & Haley Welch & Lilith for their extra long hours Saturday. Look what's happening in the Art Room! A few weeks ago HS students worked on scratch board. They selected an image, transferred it to scratch board & then 'scratched' out the design using line techniques like hatching & cross hatching. The results were amazing! ~~ Mrs. Fuller
