Angelina College FAFSA Workshop  Broaddus High School on October 10, 2019 at 5:00 pm    Angelina College Financial Aid staff will be on campus to assist students and parents in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on Thursday, October 10, 2019. The FAFSA is a form filled out annually by prospective and current college students that determines a student’s eligibility for receiving federal, state, and institutional student aid.   Please follow the checklist below to ensure your student has all the information needed and is prepared to complete the FAFSA during the scheduled workshop.   Obtain a Federal Student Aid ID for use throughout the federal aid process. Both the student AND a parent will need a FSA ID in order to complete the FAFSA. Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov before the scheduled workshop to set up your FSA ID. Once on the website, follow these instructions:  Choose Start Here, or Log In Choose I am the student Click on Create one after the question Don’t have an FSA ID?  Use the accompanying My FSAID Information sheet to keep track of information entered when creating FSA IDs.   Tax information (parent & student)  If you have completed your taxes for the 2018 year, bring a copy of your tax return.  If you have not completed your taxes for the 2018 year, bring a copy of your 2018 W-2’s and/or 1099 forms.   Any record of untaxed income received (social security benefits, child support, etc.)  Current balance of cash, savings, and checking account (amount only) for parent & student  SSN of parent(s) and student, and name as it appears on the Social Security card  Alien Registration Number or Permanent Resident Card (if applicable)  Date of birth for parent(s) and student  Anniversary or divorce date for parents if applicable (month and year)  List of colleges you are interested in attending   If you are unable to attend this workshop with your student, he or she may still complete the FAFSA.
